About 2008 Mercury Sable
Sable's new look, building on design themes introduced on Mercury Milan and Mariner, centers on Mercury's satin aluminum waterfall grille, flanked by jeweled projector beam headlamps that sweep up over the front fenders. Other highlights include chrome surrounds for the fog lamps and satin aluminum caps on the mirrors.
The rear fascia has a cutout for the chrome tips on the dual exhaust system. A chrome strip on the bottom edge of the deck lid provides a finishing touch.
The two-tone interior trim can be accented with Cyber Carbon, a deep, high-gloss accent that resembles carbon fiber, or one of two wood grain accents -- Guitar Maple or San Macassar.
Cloth seats are standard while the Premier Series offers two-tone leather seats detailed with contrast stitching and a perforated pattern that is repeated on the door panels.
Motivation comes from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 263 horsepower and 245 lb.-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is improved nearly 10 percent as well, thanks in part to Sable's six-speed automatic transmission.
